Upcycling magazines: they make great bowls, plates or platters.

I've been seeing some great plates and platters made out of old glossy magazines, great to use for fruit bowls and other table settings.

The item below caught my eye, it is on sale through Oxfam, a great cause to support.

Upcycling magazines, particularly those made with thick glossy paper is a great way to save landfill and to express yourself creatively.

This is something we could workshop in Wycheproof! So if you are interested in learning how to do this or have any other upcycling crafty ideas contact the WCRC on facebook.

Tray made from recycled magazines

Tray made from recycled magazinesMade in Vietnam by Mai Handicrafts, recycled paper is incorporated into modern designs by rolling recycled posters into flat strips, dipping them into glue and hanging them out to dry. After this the strips are coiled into the patterns and shapes such as this eye catching tray and rimmed with a bamboo edge.
